How We Verify Our Legal Content
Summary
Complex Law publishes guidance on some of the most stressful moments a person or business can face — from scams and mis-sold loans to housing disputes and contract breaches. Every article we publish is written in plain English, checked against primary legal sources, and reviewed by someone other than the person who wrote it. This page explains exactly how we do that.
Our Editorial Process
Every article follows the same pipeline before it goes live – no piece of content skips a step.
- Research & Drafting: Our writer researches the topic using primary sources – legislation, court judgments, regulator guidance and, where relevant, direct case experience.
- Editorial Review: A senior solicitor or editor checks the draft for accuracy, clarity and tone, flagging anything unsupported or unclear.
- Fact-Check Verification: A different team member – never the original author – checks every legal citation, date, figure and claim against its original source.
- Publication & Sign-off: Once verified, the article is published with a visible “Updated” date and, where relevant, a named reviewer.
